Matrimelee
📖 介紹
Matrimelee is a 2003 2D fighting game by Noise Factory and Atlus. Enter a bizarre marriage tournament with eccentric fighters, aging mechanics, and over-the-top super moves on Sega NAOMI hardware.
Released in 2003 for arcades, Matrimelee (Shin Gouketsuji Ichizoku Toukon) is the fifth and final original entry in the Power Instinct series. Developed by Noise Factory and published by Atlus, it runs on Sega NAOMI hardware, delivering some of the most polished 2D sprite work of its era.
The game builds on the series' fast-paced fighting with the Tension Gauge, which fuels devastating super moves, and the Miracle Wedding finisher that can instantly end a round. A unique aging mechanic causes characters to visually grow older as matches progress, adding a fresh twist to every fight.
Set after Power Instinct 2, the story revolves around the Gouketsuji clan's absurd marriage tournament for Princess Saki's hand. The roster blends series veterans like Oume and Oboro with newcomers including luchador El Zagro and the demonic bride Angela Belti, each bringing their own comedic flair to the ring.
Though it never achieved mainstream success, Matrimelee earned a devoted cult following for its irreverent humor, technical polish, and bold creative vision. It remains a standout 2D fighter from the NAOMI era and a memorable finale to the Power Instinct series.
