📖 介紹

Karate Champ (1984) pioneered the fighting game genre with its innovative two-joystick controls. Master punches, kicks, and blocks in one-on-one arcade combat.

Karate Champ was a groundbreaking 1984 arcade title by Technōs Japan that established the fighting game genre. As one of the earliest one-on-one combat games, it introduced core conventions that would define the genre for decades.

The game featured an innovative two-joystick control scheme where each joystick independently controlled one of the fighter's arms. Players could execute 19 different moves across 28 stages set in various locations, combining high and low punches with kicks and blocks.

While primarily focused on competitive karate matches rather than narrative, the game cast players as a skilled karateka facing increasingly difficult opponents in tournament-style bouts across diverse settings.

Karate Champ's influence extended far beyond its arcade run, spawning a sequel and inspiring legendary titles like Street Fighter and Tekken. Its pioneering design earned it induction into multiple gaming halls of fame.
