Released in 1990 for the Sega Genesis, Strider II is the console-exclusive sequel to the beloved arcade action-platformer. Developed by Tiertex and published by U-S Gold, it expands the original formula with bigger sprites, more intricate level design, and ambitious stage variety that pushed the 16-bit hardware.

The game introduces new mechanics that deepen the combat experience, most notably a double jump that gives Hiryu greater aerial mobility. Enhanced Cypher blade attacks allow for more aggressive combos, while the C button unlocks special attacks that turn the tide against tough enemies.
