Snowboard Kids
📖 介紹
Snowboard Kids is a quirky N64 racing game where kids battle with weapons across colorful mountain courses. Features 8 characters and 4-player multiplayer.
Snowboard Kids, developed by Racdym (a subsidiary of Now Production) and published by Atlus in 1997, brought a unique blend of Mario Kart-style item battles and SSX-inspired trick mechanics to the Nintendo 64. Released during the console's golden era, it offered a fresh take on the kart racing genre with its snowboarding theme and chaotic multiplayer action.
Racers compete across vibrant mountain courses, earning coins between runs to purchase upgrades for their snowboards and abilities. The game features exaggerated cartoon physics where characters can be sent flying off cliffs or launched into the air by explosions. Each course includes hidden shortcuts and interactive elements that add strategic depth to the racing.
The game features 8 playable kids, each with unique stats that affect their performance on the slopes. While the story is light, the charming character designs and colorful winter world create an engaging atmosphere. The multiplayer mode supports up to 4 players for chaotic local battles.
Despite limited marketing outside Japan, Snowboard Kids gained a cult following for its fun gameplay and memorable characters. The European version included a frame rate optimization patch that improved performance. It remains a notable entry in the N64 library for fans of competitive multiplayer racing games.
