📖 介紹

Drift-focused arcade racing on Nintendo DS with 35 licensed cars, touch-screen customization, and the exclusive Nitro Run mode. Race, customize, and boost your way to victory.

Need for Speed: Nitro, released in 2009 by Firebrand Games and published by Electronic Arts, brought the franchise's signature street racing to the Nintendo DS. As part of the long-running Need for Speed series, this title stood out for its drift-centric design and innovative use of the DS's dual-screen and touch capabilities.

The game features 35 licensed vehicles from manufacturers including Lamborghini, Porsche, and Audi, all customizable through an extensive touch-screen vinyl editor. Four game modes—Career, Quick Race, Police Chase, and the DS-exclusive Nitro Run—offer varied racing experiences. The unique Nitro Boost system rewards stylish drifting and risky driving with turbo bursts, while local multiplayer supports up to 4 players via DS Download Play.

Players progress through a career mode, unlocking new cars and customization options as they compete in increasingly challenging races. The Police Chase mode adds intensity with law enforcement pursuit, while the Nitro Run mode leverages both screens for an immersive racing experience unique to the handheld platform.

Need for Speed: Nitro remains notable as one of the few DS titles to fully utilize the system's touch interface for gameplay and customization. Its drift-focused mechanics and accessible multiplayer made it a standout racing game in the handheld's library, appealing to both series fans and portable racing enthusiasts.
