Eight Man
📖 介紹
Pilot cyborg hero Eight Man through six dystopian stages in this 1991 SNK beat 'em up based on Japanese superhero franchise. Use super speed and bionic punches.
Eight Man is a 1991 cyberpunk beat 'em up developed by Pax Softnica and published by SNK for the Neo Geo MVS. Based on the Japanese superhero franchise, it stood out as one of SNK's few side-scrolling brawlers, with anime-inspired visuals and large sprites that showed off the hardware.
Players control Eight Man with a joystick and four buttons: weak, medium, and strong attacks plus a dedicated super speed button. The Overheat mechanic punishes overuse of super speed by temporarily disabling abilities until he cools down, so timing is key. Special moves like the Sonic Dash and environmental interactions such as throwable objects and destructible scenery add variety to the brawling.
Set in a dystopian future, the story follows cyborg hero Eight Man as he battles criminal syndicates across six stages. The world leans heavily into cyberpunk style, with urban backdrops, industrial settings, and anime-style character design.
Today Eight Man remains a curiosity for Neo Geo collectors and retro fighting-game fans. Its mix of superhero action, cyberpunk atmosphere, and SNK's signature presentation gives it a lasting place among early-'90s arcade beat 'em ups.
