In Dig Dug, players control the titular character who digs tunnels through soft dirt to reach enemies. Using a pump, you can inflate Pooka and Fygar until they pop, or strategically drop rocks from above for efficient elimination. Bonus vegetables appear randomly for extra points, and enemies become faster and more aggressive in later stages.
The game features two main enemy types: Pooka, round red creatures, and Fygar, green dragons that can breathe fire. Set in underground mazes, Dig Dug must avoid these foes while clearing each level to progress through multiple subterranean stages.
