📖 介紹
Experience Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M., a 1999 sci-fi FPS on N64 where you pilot advanced exoskeletons to fight the S.W.A.R.M. alien swarm in single-player and multiplayer modes.
Released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M. is a first-person shooter developed by Acclaim Studios London, the team behind Turok. It immerses players in a near-future Earth invaded by hive-minded alien insects known as the S.W.A.R.M.
Players don powered exoskeletons equipped with a HUD displaying armor integrity, weapon energy, and motion tracking. The game features 'Destructo-Vision' for real-time environment destruction, letting you blast walls open for tactical edges. Alien enemies swarm in coordinated waves, and a Rage Meter temporarily boosts firepower when you take damage.
As elite Armorines soldiers, you undertake 15 missions across diverse locales like jungles, alien hive ships, and Arctic bases. The game includes 6 multiplayer maps supporting up to 4 players in split-screen, with upgradable weapons and destructible elements.
Developed by the Turok team, Armorines pushed N64 hardware with texture streaming and particle effects. While criticized for repetitive level design, it was praised for intense action and innovative enemy AI, making it a memorable retro FPS with ambitious mechanics.
